Commodore Michael Newcombe and the Board of Directors invite you to join them for the 2025 Sailpast!

One of the Kelowna Yacht Club’s longstanding traditions is Sailpast, whereby the Commodore is honoured by the Members of the Club.
This tradition allows the fleet to be inspected by the Commodore and is accomplished by the fleet passing in front of the Commodore’s Flagship; giving and receiving a salute from the Commodore. Every year, the practice and history of Sailpast is performed by thousands of yacht club’s around the world.
Did you know? If not able to attend the Sailpast, tradition dictates that regrets are to be sent to the Commodore. This can be done via the tickets link.
If attending, registration is required and we kindly ask that you register for all who will be attending with you as well. Please note, this event is open to Kelowna Yacht Club members.

11:30 AM · Sailpast Commences
EVENT DETAILS
Breakfast · We welcome all of our members to join us prior to Sailpast in the Member Lounge for a complimentary breakfast buffet. Registration for this is required, and can be done online here. Please note that your registration is not a reservation for a table, and it will be open seating for the breakfast.
Ceremony · The Ceremony will take place in two parts. The Board of Directors and visiting dignitaries will proceed to the flag pole at 10:15 for the flag-raising. They will then be ushered in traditional form by bagpiper to the Grand Banquet Room, where the official ceremony will take place. We invite members to join us in the Grand Banquet Room to participate in the ceremony.
Sailpast · The tradition of the Club’s fleet passing in front of the Commodore’s flagship will take place following the official ceremony. Vessels will then head out onto the water and follow their designated fleet captain to begin the Sailpast.
