Get ready to make waves. On Saturday, August 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., we’re taking over H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre for the Y’s newest fundraising event, Make a Splash — a day of fun, friendly competition, and community spirit, all in support of the YMCA Okanagan Swims program.
Adopting a Duck = Entry to the event
This fun-filled day will support the YMCA Okanagan Swims program, which provides free emergency water safety lessons to every Grade 3 student in School District 23.
🐥 Adopt a Duck – For just $25, you can adopt duck and enter it into our Lazy River Duck Race. One duck adoption = giving one child life-saving swim lessons. Be sure to join us in person to watch the race and cheer on your duck.🎉
💣 Vote in the Cannonball Crusher Competition – It’s Team YMCA vs. Team Stober in a splashy battle. Vote for your favourite team with a $25 donation. The team with the most votes will win a cool trophy! Let’s show the Stober Foundation who really rules the pool!

🌭 BBQ by Donation – Come hungry! We’ll be grilling up BBQ-style eats, including hot dogs and veggie dogs, with all proceeds going to the YMCA Okanagan Swims Program.
Every dollar raised will help us reach our goal to drown-proof the Okanagan by giving every Grade 3 student in School District 23 access to free emergency water safety lessons — including transportation! Our goal is to raise enough funds to put more than 1,900 third-grade students in swim lessons at the Y.
Together, we can make waves that save lives. Let’s drown-proof the Okanagan — one duck at a time.
