The Auld Kirk and grounds will be open on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th July from 2 to 4 p.m., in recognition of the Rev. Jon Witherspoon, Minister at the Auld Kirk, and a signature of the American Declaration of Independence.
Although most of the Church was demolished at the beginning of the 19th century when a new Parish Church was built, we will mark out where the original building used to stand. A marble memorial to John Spiers, which previously was located in Spier's School, can be seen attached to the back wall.
A number of old photos of the area around the Auld Kirk will be on display.
