Since 2013, Heart Centered Kirtan has been offering kirtan throughout New England with their original call-and-response devotional music. Weaving Sanskrit and Buddhist mantras into a unique blend of modern Western musical styles, Heart Centered Kirtans are uniquely uplifting experiences! Your mantra music guides will be: Libby Volckening (keys/vox), Ezra Landis (guitar), Thomas Matherly (bass), and Owen Landis (percussion).

Ten percent of all proceeds from this Friday's kirtan will be given to the Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music, a non-profit arts organization in rural New Hampshire that has offered educational and mentoring programs to over 50,000 students from around the world since its founding in 1971. Central to the mission of Apple Hill is Playing for Peace, considered a unique model for social and cultural exchange. Students with cultural, ethnic, religious, economic, and political differences are paired together in small ensembles where they are coached on the five skills of chamber music: listening, watching, adjusting, sensitivity, and being flexible. The goal is to offer a unique opportunity to create meaningful bonds of friendship and understanding while participating in an exceptional pedagogical program that encourages leadership and the development of confidence, creativity, and ambition.
