R&J Stables, established in 2016, is run by retired local teacher Heather Matile. Over the past nine years her barn has provided safe and fun horseback riding lessons, camps, outdoor education school trips, Trailriding, and Therapeutic riding for the Kawartha Lakes community.
This year, they have pivoted to become primarily a therapeutic riding centre serving those with mental health, developmental, focus or behavioural challenges. As a result, it is imperative that the facility become y wheelchair accessible.
This exciting auction event at the Cow and Sow will be raising money to build a wheelchair mounting ramp and platform, accessible pathways and the creation of a fund for riders who require financial assistance.
Please join us on Sunday, July 27 from 5 to 9 PM. Purchase tickets to drop in the auction items of your choice, order some food and drink and purchase 50/50 tickets. 100% of the money raised will be used to ensure as many people as possible can find joy and peace working with horses.
