RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. PLEASE NOTE: Insurance information is required on entry forms.
2. For the purpose of the Sheep classification, an entry shall be interpreted as follows: All Sheep, whether owned by one person or more than one person (individually or jointly), which are maintained on one farm or breeding unit are considered to be the product of one farm or breeding unit. Therefore, ONLY ONE ENTRY PER CLASS IS ELIGIBLE from such a farm or breeding unit, except an exhibitor is ALLOWED to show 2 ENTRIES PER CLASS IN A MAXIMUM OF 2 CLASSES.
3. Exhibitor will not be allowed to show more than 2 breeds.
4. Exhibitors will receive Admission Passes to the email that is listed on the entry form. Exhibitor admission passes will be allocated based on the number of livestock entered.
5. The following breeds must be shown in short fleece (staple less than one inch): Border Cheviot, Dorset, Hampshire, Oxford Down, Shropshire, Southdown, Suffolk and Texels.
6. All sheep being exhibited must be healthy and free of contagious diseases. The Sheep Committee, in consultation with a veterinarian, may disqualify and remove from the grounds any animal not deemed healthy.
7. Sheep must be on the grounds by 10:00 am on show day and may depart after the show. Papers will be checked between the hours of 9:00 am and 11:00 pm on show day. Pens may be available for move-in on Wednesday, September 17 with committee approval.
8. All animals must be owned by, and registered in the name of the exhibitor. The names, registration numbers and complete identification must be recorded on the entry form. Exhibitors must present registration certificates on the day of the show. Any Exhibitor who fails to do so shall not be allowed to show.
9. SUBSTITUTIONS: Exhibitors may substitute only within the class already entered, not from class to class. All substitutions must be made at the office immediately upon arrival.
10. The Committee shall be empowered to refuse the exhibit of any animal, which it deems in type and quality to be unfit for exhibition purposes.
11. General rules of the Lindsay Exhibition apply to all classes.
12. Exceptions to any rule may be made by the Chairperson.
13. PETS: No pets, except certified service animals are allowed on the Exhibition grounds. No dogs, including Exhibitor’s dogs, are allowed in the barns during the Exhibition.
14. Only 1 handler per animal will be allowed in the ring, except for class 03 (ram).
15. All animals must have RFID or CSIP tags in their ears.
16. All exhibitors must wear a harness.
17. Classes may be combined at the committee's discretion based on the distribution of entries.
18. Divisions must have 3 exhibitors or 15 animals for the division to run.
19. All exhibitors must wear harnesses or number clips when showing animals in the ring.
20. Show schedule subject to change. Please refer to the show schedule for running order of classes.
The Board of Directors & The Sheep Committee gratefully acknowledge a PERPETUAL ENDOWMENT FUND presented by
Gary & Lori (Clarke) McCarrell, In Memory of George and Marg Clarke of Scottish Blend Farm.
George & Marg Clarke (of SCOTTISH BLEND FARM) were strong advocates & supporters of the Lindsay Fair their entire lives. Having strong agricultural roots, they particularly enjoyed the social sense of community and friendly competitive spirit that a local fair could provide. To that end, a perpetual Legacy Fund has been established on their behalf, to help support the fair’s continued success and strong commitment to agriculture for many years to come.
George and Marg Clarke (particularly Marg) were also strong advocates of “Continued Education” for young people to become the best they can be in shaping their futures. To acknowledge that premise, a portion of their perpetual Legacy Fund will be set aside annually for an educational bursary. Plans are to have this in place starting 2026 and beyond.
