Learn to knit cozy, well-fitting socks with Marie Sternberg of Sunshine Fibre Fest!
This hands-on workshop is designed for knitters who already know how to knit and purl. Experience knitting in the round is helpful. You may use double-pointed needles (DPNs) or circular needles with the magic loop method.
Marie will guide participants through sock construction using her popular Basic Sock pattern, with options for both fine sock yarn and worsted weight yarns.
Date: Saturday, February 21, 2026
Time: 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Location: The Olde Kirk, 992 Portage Road, Kirkfield
Cost:
• Workshop fee: $50
• Yarn: $10–$25 (or bring your own)
Patterns:
• Marie’s Basic Sock – fine sock yarn (28–32 sts per 4”)
• Canucks by Lisa Mutch – worsted weight (16 sts per 4”)
Patterns are free on Ravelry.
What to bring:
• 100g yarn
• 3.25 mm needles (fine sock yarn)
• 4 mm needles (worsted weight sock)
• Bagged lunch
Coffee, tea and sweet treats available by donation
