About the conversation:
In this conversation, we explore our experiences of teaching research in a MFA program at Kathmandu University School of Arts. We examine the purpose and relevance of research for artists and creative professionals. Through our experiences we also question whether there is a distinct paradigm and methodology in doing research for creative practice. Our intention is to open a reflective conversation on why and how we teach research in the arts.

About the speakers:
Pranab Man Singh is a writer, editor, and translator. He currently works at Quixote's Cove to support the creation of art and literature. His writings and translations have been published in several books, magazines, and newspapers. He teaches art history, critical theory and research methods at Kathmandu University’s Department of Art and Design.

Amina Singh did her PhD in adult learning from the University of Technology Sydney in Australia. She has been teaching research methodology at Kathmandu University since 2015 across different schools.
