Come join us this Wednesday to immerse yourself in the historical and contemporary use of Chhina Patasi, amidst the car-free environment of the wonderful communal initiative “Patan Pailai Pailama”, organized by Lalitpur Metropolitan City and supported by Nepal Cycle Society. Our first storyteller, Urmila Acharya Rajopadhyay, is a Newar culture and heritage enthusiast who has been collecting Newar cultural items at her home. She is also the founding member of ‘Kun Jhyah Mahila Samuha’ in Swotha. Our second storyteller, Lumin Tamrakar, is a Newar cultural activist who has been promoting the use of Chhina Patasi for over 10 years and is the owner of Lu Swaa’s Tradition.
This session is being organized in collaboration with the Patan Pailai Pailama initiative, Nepal Cycle Society and Lalitpur Metropolitan City.
