The Joy of Many Colours – Katherine Multicultural Festival 2025
We are delighted to invite you to The Joy of Many Colours – Katherine Multicultural Festival 2025, proudly presented by the Connected Women group of the Australian Red Cross, in partnership with the Katherine Town Council and our diverse Katherine community, with the generous support of the Northern Territory Government. This special event is a heartfelt celebration of our rich cultural diversity and unity.
Festival Highlight: The Joy of Many Colours Fashion Show
📅 Saturday, 30 August 2025
🕓 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
📍 Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts & Culture Centre
Be inspired as more than 70 remarkable women from migrant and Indigenous backgrounds take to the runway, showcasing strength, resilience, and creativity. The fashion show, divided into five captivating segments, will feature garments thoughtfully created, upcycled, and repurposed by local community members, including our respected First Nations women.
Enjoy the rhythm and soul of the festival through live cultural performances, including traditional cadence dancing and powerful vocal acts—bringing to life the spirit of harmony and belonging.
Multicultural Food Expo
🕡 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM
At the same venue, this vibrant celebration will bring a rich culinary experience, showcasing over 100 dishes from 20+ cultural backgrounds. Attendees can enjoy authentic global cuisines at no cost, guided by cultural representatives. The event will also feature live music, a photo wall, and engaging activities for children, creating a vibrant and immersive cultural celebration
