'The Next Generation' Collaborative Painting Sessions
As part of this year’s NAIDOC Exhibition 'The Next Generation', young artists are invited to take part in these drop-in style painting workshops with artist and teacher Sherral Hicks.
Over two days, Wednesday 9 July and Thursday 10 July, participants will create colour-focused canvases that will become part of a larger collaborative installation featured in the exhibition.
Each 30cm x 30cm canvas reflects a piece of the community, legacy, and the creative energy of the next generation.
This is a free, drop-in style workshop open to the youth of Karratha of all ages. Each painting will take around 10 - 15 minutes to complete, and participants are welcome to stay and paint up to three canvases if they’d like to keep creating.
