We’re excited to announce that registrations are now open for the upcoming Cyclones Development Squad trials!
The Cyclones Development Program is designed for junior players who are passionate about improving their game—whether they’re striving for higher-level competition or simply want to develop their skills in a positive, team-focused environment.
Following a successful season last year, we are once again providing the extended program to provide longer-term development for our players, while also preparing selected teams to compete in a number of Basketball WA tournaments throughout the year and playing opportunities across the 2025/26 KBA domestic season.

Pilbara Cup (Karratha) – 16 &17 August 2025
State Championships (Perth) – Nov–Dec 2025
Country Championships (Perth) – Jan–Feb 2026
Winter Classic (Perth) – July 2026 (U12/U14/U16 only)
If your child is keen to take their basketball to the next level, we encourage them to attend the trials.
Please note: While attending the trials is free, there will be a squad fee payable for successful applicants.

All trial dates, times, and registration information can be found on the link and below. Please note, you MUST register in order to trial.
Trial Dates
Trial # 1 - Saturday 31 May 2025
Trial # 2 - Saturday 21 June 2025
Trial # 3 - Sunday 22 June 2025
Sunday 27 July 2025 – This is an additional trial session that will ONLY be used if necessary (e.g. if a significant number of players are unable to attend the first three mandatory sessions.
IMPORTANT: Trial Attendance Requirements
If your child was NOT selected in the 2024/25 Cyclones Squad:
➤ You MUST attend at least 2 trials to be considered for selection.
If your child WAS selected in the 2024/25 Cyclones Squad:
➤ You MUST attend at least 1 trial to remain eligible for selection.
➤ Trials will be conducted with 2 age groups within one session. We will still have squads up to 20 players per age group (U12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18).
📝 Note: The more trials you attend, the more opportunities you have to showcase your skills to selectors.
⚠️ Please remember: Being selected previously does not guarantee selection this year. All players must trial to be considered.
While we understand there will be clashes with winter sports, we have tried our best to accommodate this, along with the limited availabilities of the Leisureplex courts.
If attendance is not possible, please contact the KBA Competition Manager at
