8/28(四) 月會講座 : 海鳥混獲忌避措施與海鳥辨識

四周環海的寶島台灣
因生活需求和對美食的追求有著發達的漁業
但在捕捉海裡魚兒的同時
竟然也會將海鳥跟著一起拖吊上船？

不過，海鳥混獲是什麼呢？
「混獲」指的是漁船在捕撈目標魚種時
意外捕獲了非目標生物
像是海龜、鯨豚、甚至是海鳥。

許多遠洋延繩釣或刺網作業
會因為海鳥在覓食時被魚餌吸引
進而誤吞魚鉤或纏繞於漁具中，最終溺斃。

根據國際鳥盟（BirdLife International）估計
每年有超過10萬隻海鳥死於混獲
其中包括信天翁、海燕、鸕鶿與賊鷗等長距離遷徙鳥類。
然而台灣及國際間又有什麼海鳥保育行動呢？

本次講座邀請中華鳥會潘森識主任
分享混獲(bycatch)現象及調查成果
讓我們不僅是享受桌上的海味
也一起來認識同樣喜歡食用海鮮的海鳥們的困境。
