Summer Vibes: Creative Journaling with Robin VanHoozer

Spark your creativity with journaling this summer.

Learn how journaling, both written and visual, can spark your imagination. Journaling uncovers layers of thought and the creative process. Using the basics of layering and mixed media, such as pencil, oil pastel, and colored pencil, and paint to build the tools to inspire and innovate your art making.

You’ll discover three tools of journaling that enrich your art making.

· Keep it simple – Begin with one key idea

· Design a system for organizing visual concepts

· Start creating using the basics of layering

The workshop is designed for. All levels. First time participants will learn the journaling process and how it unlocks creativity. Experienced participants will find deeper connections and tips that benefit the creative process.

You will leave the workshop with a cover you design to begin the journaling process, a writing prompt, and two completed 7 x 9 mixed media paintings on Arches watercolor paper.

All supplies will be provided.

We will be using a variety of materials, pencils, color pencils, oil pastels, watercolor, and acrylic.

You’re welcome to bring reference photos, and your own box of art supplies, such as pencils and scissors, and any collage materials you might want to use.
