Earliest collaborations of this trio date back to 2013 when Zak Pischnotte (woodwinds, trumpet) began improvising weekly with Cubby Phillips (guitar, zither) in Omaha, NE. The two met Ben Tervort (bass, guitar) in 2018 after Pischnotte relocated to the KC metro.�
An effortless musical connection has kept the three recording and performing free jazz with regularity, despite living in separate cities. Recordings thereof have been released as Bedford Crux (2020) and Prompted Assent (2023). They are largely inspired by folk-bent free jazz of the 1960s and 70s."
Mike Stover will open the show with a solo set of music.
