Join us for the second event in our Coffee with Champions Summer Series, where we’re bringing together Kansas City leaders who are making a difference in our community! Hear inspiring stories and practical advice from local champions who help everyday people thrive and feel empowered.
Joni Wickham and Sly James SPENT EIGHT YEARS TOGETHER REBUILDING THE CONFIDENCE OF A CITY THAT NEEDED A REASON TO FEEL GOOD ABOUT ITSELF AGAIN. Joni and Sly have been in the trenches together finding solutions and developing strategies. Collectively they know how to not only achieve goals, but surpass them. Joni and Sly also know how to build the coalitions necessary to move big projects forward.

ABOUT COFFEE WITH CHAMPIONS:
Coffee with Champions is a new discussion series developed by the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (NLBM) in partnership with Starbucks Coffee. Attendees will enjoy an all-star panel of local "community champions" who embody the spirit of the Negro Leagues through their community impact and support of the NLBM. Panelist will share their perspectives on creating a winning culture, leadership and more.
The purpose of this program is to provide professional development for emerging leaders, employee resource and affiliated groups in the culturally enriched confines of the NLBM. Coffee and pastries will be provided by Starbucks Coffee.
ABOUT NEGRO LEAGUES BASEBALL MUSEUM:
The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (NLBM) is the world’s only museum dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history of African American baseball and its impact on the social advancement of America. The privately funded, 501 c3, not-for-profit organization was established in 1990 and is in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri’s Historic 18th & Vine Jazz District. The NLBM operates two blocks from the Paseo YMCA where Andrew “Rube” Foster established the Negro National League in 1920.
