Military Medicine and the Hidden Costs of War

Dramatic improvements in military medicine have made wars increasingly survivable for wounded soldiers – creating unanticipated effects on international politics in an era of heightened competition between global powers.

Tanisha M. Fazal (author of “Military Medicine and the Hidden Costs of War”) will trace the modern history of medical treatment and casualty rates in American conflicts and investigate the new human and financial considerations for understanding the costs of war.
