From Metis Mama:
Join us for a special day of creativity, connection, and culture as we come together to make traditional Metis rattles. Guided by a Metis knowledge keeper and artisan, this hands-on workshop offers a meaningful opportunity to learn about the sacred art of rattle making, and the important role rattles hold in Indigenous and Métis cultures.
Rattles are not just instruments; they are powerful ceremonial tools used for prayer, healing, celebration, and storytelling. Each rattle carries the spirit of the maker and the natural materials from which it is formed, symbolizing the deep relationship between people, land, and spirit. For the Métis, rattles hold a place in both spiritual and social traditions, connecting communities through music, dance, and ceremony.
Through this experience, participants will craft their own rattles with intention, learn about the cultural teachings that surround them, and leave with a deeper connection to Indigenous traditions and their own creative spirit.
We look forward to sharing this beautiful day with you!
