Community Weaving is inviting you to 4 days & 3 nights of camping in community at Deadman Acres. Farm The 1st annual Community Weaving Camping Trip is an opportunity for us to re-village; to come together with all walks of life to live, play, adventure and co-create in an organic farm-stay setting in the Deadman Valley, alongside the pristine Deadman River.
INTENTION:
~ To disconnect from technology and return to land-based practices
~ Re-connect to the land, local flora, fauna & livestock
~ To build community connection & co-create a vision for our wider community in the Kamloops area
~ To create a land-based art installation at Deadman Acres for others to enjoy
~ To return to our village senses & come together in community for a weekend of play!

Deadman Acres is nestled in the Deadman Valley; a special valley dotted with a unique and unexpected BC landscape, with fascinating historical and geological features. The farm is 90 acres and home to many animals including goats, sheep, horses, dogs, ducks, chickens, cats and rabbits. The homestead also offers a mix of different unique farm-stay accommodations to fit everyone’s needs. Including a little retro camper; the Scamper Camper, the original homestead cabin; the Farmhouse, and a fully off grid cabin perched on a beautiful hill; the Horsehill Cabin, as well as tent and RV camping!

DIRECTIONS:
6098 Deadman Vidette Road
One hour from Kamloops. Preload the Google map directions to Deadman Acres before turning off the highway as the valley has no cell service.
Turn onto the Deadman Vidette Rd off highway 97 and follow the road for 28 kms, the gate is signed 6098 with the big red barn on the right.
The road is paved half of the way and then transitions into a maintained grave road.
Deadman Acres is rural (one hour front he nearest amenities) so please ensure that you are fully stocked for this type of adventure

Expect things like paddling & fishing on Vidette lake, building a beautiful land-based project, community meals, an open mic night + dance party, and group facilitated activities.
**If you have something you would like to offer, please reach out to Brittany Gill asap so we can get it on the schedule! (Ie. Yoga class, guided plant walk, reiki or body treatments, fishing therapy, etc)
COST
The individual & family cost will be determined VERY soon. The ideal is to keep the cost low for everyone.
Included in your ticket will be:
- 3 breakfasts
- 3 dinners
- All group facilitations
- Workshops & experiences
- All group materials needed for the weekend
- 3 nights camping (RVs & trailers are welcome, but no hookups available)
- Access to the entire Deadman Acres Farm (excluding private dwellings)
- Bathrooms (2 onsite w/ running water) & 2 pristine outhouses
- Fresh well water
NOT included in ticket price:
- Lunches
- Snacks
- Transportation to & from the farm
- Added accommodations (ie, Horsehill Cabin or the Scamper Camper)
Available Accommodations:
Tent or RV camping alongside the Deadman River is included in your weekend cost, but if you are interested and would like to book either of these for an added cost, please message Brittany Gill to arrange details.

**The Farmhouse will be open to all for a bathroom, running water, full kitchen & BBQ.
**There will be limited WIFI & electricity available, although we suggest turning off your phone for the weekend!
TO BRING:
- All camping supplies you will need for 3 nights of camping
- Camp chairs
- Gazebo tents (if you have one)
- Folding tables (if you have one)
- Lunch and snack foods (breakfast & dinner is covered, your snacks and lunches are not)
- Good walking shoes for around the farm + hiking
- Bathing suits
- Towels
- Boats (fishing boat, canoe, kayak or paddle board) + applicable paddles
