All dogs over 12 months of age are welcome to participate! Dogs do not need to be purebred, or registered with the Canadian Kennel Club to be recognized as a Canine Good Neighbour.
Our evaluator will be Marla Williamson, and testing will be done as part of of Overlanders Day in Brocklehurt Park.

Registration fee is $35 and should be sent via etransfer to
a2FtbG9vcHNyZWdrYyB8IGdtYWlsICEgY29t when you register. Time slots are first-come-first-served, with the first run starting at 10:00am.

The CGN will evaluate your dog on the following 12 exercises
1. Accepting a friendly stranger
2. Politely accepting petting
3. Appearance and grooming
4. Out for a walk
5. Walking through a crowd
6. Sit/down and stay (on a long line)
7. Come when called (on a long line)
8. Praise/interaction
9. Reaction to a passing dog
10. Reaction to distraction
11. Supervised isolation
12. Walking through a door/gate
You may talk to your dog and encourage them during the evaluation, but food, toys and other training aids are not permitted. The dog may walk on a loose leash on either the left or the right side of the owner. You may not correct or punish. Dogs who show aggression or unruly behaviour will be disqualified, but can retest at a later date.

Bring the following equipment/materials to your CGN evaluation.
- proof of vaccination (may be a photocopy, an email from your vet or a certificate)
- dog license
- grooming tool (brush, comb, curry, etc.)
- plastic bag (pooper scooper bag)
- leash between 2-6 foot long (leather, fabric or chain is fine)
- collar (flat buckle, slip, martingale, fabric, leather or chain. Prong or e-collars are not acceptable.)
