Tämä konkretisoituu erityisen hyvin violan säveltämissä äänimaailmoissa, eikä ihme, sillä artisti on ansioitunut myös valokuvaajana. It is challenging to be a bridge builder between the world of rock and reality. How do you sell an abstract concept like “rock” to an audience that impatiently demands ready-made answers without further questions? Can so-called “old-school analog rock music” be explained to people in the modern digital age without having to bend over backwards and, at the same time, cross the generational gap without stumbling over the edge?

Sometimes music feels like a photograph, with more details emerging each time you look at it. This is particularly evident in the soundscapes composed by Viola, which is no surprise, as the artist is also an accomplished photographer. The images evoked by the song kaupunki make the listener want to touch the photograph in their hands. A photograph that is not there, but whose captured moment unfolds clearly before their eyes.
