On the 12th of July, Field Studies Oy will continue a new tradition in Eastern Finland - the second annual Kontiolahti Bluegrass & Folk Festival! We will have a pop-up restaurant selling some food and coffee/juice but it’s also ok to make yourself a picnic or grab pizza before or after at Kontiolomat (just down the street at Kontioniementie 26 A.) Parking on Oikopolku is very limited so your best bet is to take the bus or bike!

- Parking on Oikopolku is limited so taking the bus or bike is recommended

Jones Street Station
- Originally from Brooklyn, Jones Street Station is reuniting in Kontiolahti for a special acoustic set with a mix of standards and originals from their 6 albums and 20+ years together. “Charming, unusually graceful music” - New York Times
Jake & Rambling Blade
- Porvoo’s own Jake & Rambling Blade, a Finnish band inspired by country, bluegrass, and Americana roots music will be back again, playing a mix of songs from their debut album, True Love, and some bluegrass standards. Here’s a video clip.
Armas E. Leopold
- A local treat, Armas E. Leopold is bringing their unique blend of folk music and performance art that could only come from one place - North Karelia. Their music reflects the nearby nature and the mental landscapes of this trio – surprising twists, freedom of expression, love of music and rhythm.
Open Bluegrass Jam
- We’ll also be hosting a bluegrass jam in the barn again so please bring your instruments and come play with us!
