“Seeing Red” is an open call for artists to channel our individual and collective frustration—fueled by social chaos, injustice, and heartbreak—into powerful works that also remembers humanity’s hope, kindness and beauty that keeps us moving forward. The myth of Horus’ Eye, a symbol of loss and restoration, of protection against darkness and bad energy, guides our consciousness. Let astrology, history, sacred texts, and our path of human revolution inform your work. Submit your boldest reds, your fiercest statements, and your tender reminders of resilience. Humor, Satire, and Love are most welcomed. Let your art roar, defend, and inspire—because it’s time we share our vision of who we are when we “See Red.”

TIMELINE

• THE SHOW OPENS Saturday, May 10th, 2025, at 6:00 pm.

• ART UPTAKE is on Tuesday and Thursday, May 6th & 8th, from 2:00–5:00 pm. Bring any art that you think carries the ka of red to the Beatnik Lounge for submission. Please MAKE SURE IT’S READY TO HANG with wire or some other means built in so we don’t have to figure out some way for it to defy gravity. The art will be on the wall at the Beatnik until shortly before the next show begins a month later.
