What is Treatment Family Care?
Treatment Family Care (TFC) is a specialized form of foster care that provides intensive, family-based support for children with significant emotional, behavioral, or medical needs, offering a more structured and therapeutic healing environment. The TFC program is designed to be a short-term treatment phase as the child heals and recovers in a home as we work towards permanency.
MBCH is seeking Christian families for this ministry. Being a TFC parent is a full-time job and requires at least one parent to remain at home or for the parent to have a flexible job to be able to accommodate the needs of the child. We are also seeking families who will take TFC children on respite for a weekend to help give TFC homes a break or in case of an emergency.
Benefits to becoming a TFC family include:
Additional trauma-informed training
24/7 support and crisis intervention
Support staff in home weekly
Help navigating all systems (medical, legal, school, etc.)
Clear treatment goals for the children in the home
Additional funding for foster parents
Agency support for gifts, clothing, furniture, etc.
TFC Specialists become an active member of the Family Support Team and help families develop resources in the community
Last but not least, you will be able to provide a structured and loving home to a child in need
