The Greater Johnstown Community YMCA is proud to announce the launch of GROW WITH US, a newly formalized volunteer program designed to connect community members with meaningful opportunities to give back, develop new skills, and make a lasting impact.
The GROW WITH US program invites individuals of all ages and backgrounds to share their time and talents in a variety of areas, including membership services, wellness, special events, aquatics, youth and family programs, sports, and special projects. Whether participants can volunteer weekly, monthly, or for a one-time project, there’s a place for everyone to contribute.
To kick off the program, the YMCA will host the Seeds of Service Showcase from August 18–21, with sessions from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. in the YMCA lobby. Guests can meet YMCA staff, learn about available volunteer roles, and begin the application process.
On Wednesday, August 20 from 9 to 9:40 a.m. in the Y Space, the YMCA will hold a special Volunteer Presentation, highlighting the benefits of volunteering—from building friendships and learning new skills to becoming part of something bigger than yourself.
