Rooted UP

Steven Shelton is a native of East Tennessee with roots that go back before the state's beginning. He recently moved back to the area. He enjoys being closer to family and the slower pace of life.

Steven started painting at 52 at the request of his husband Rex. When he protested that he was not an artist, the response was "Just have fun!" In Steven's words, "I have been having fun since and people have been very receptive. I paint with abandon and usually don't use brushes, but employ anything within arms reach to get the paint where it wants to be. I work mostly with acrylic on canvas."
