Intro to Foraged Basketry

Weave a Cattail Basket!

This class is an introduction to working with foraged basketry materials. Foraging and weaving with your own materials is a meaningful way to connect with the plants that grow in your backyard and region. We will learn about common plants that grow here in Northeast TN while making a basket out of materials that Tori harvested locally. Basic basketry techniques such as twining and plaiting will be taught. The basket will use a mason jar as a template and can be used as a water bottle holder or planter cover (or whatever you want to use it for).
