Expressions: A Celebration of Art, Music, and Identity

FADE TO BLACK & JC Takeover present Expressions—a one-night-only event spotlighting the creative brilliance of artists from our community. Set to the sounds of a live DJ spinning classic and house music the evening will feature visual artwork that focuses on the lifestyles of gay black men and same-gender-loving men of color on canvas creating a dynamic atmosphere of culture pride and self-expression.

JC Takeover was established in 2015 to raise awareness and provide a supportive
outlet for gay professional men of color in Jersey City. FADE TO BLACK was founded
in 2021 to create a safe space for same-gender-loving men of color to connect
express and thrive.

Once a year during Hudson County pride month the two organizations combine
forces to show unity and amplify the voices of our community.
