Celebrated artist Portable, Alan Abrahams music project , African ambient bridges continents and cultures.This innovative project is the brainchild of Portable, a South African native who, after 25 years in Europe, has woven the essence of his diverse experiences into a captivating musical tapestry, sound sculpting and transforming the source material into ambient form.
The artist has resided in iconic cities such as London, Lisbon, Berlin, and currently calls Paris, France, home.
Portable, a trailblazing artist known for pushing the boundaries of sound and genre, has embarked on a transformative journey with „African Ambient.“ Growing up in South Africa and living in various European metropolises, Portable has absorbed the rich cultural influences of both continents, creating a unique artistic identity that transcends geographic boundaries, seamlessly blending traditional African rhythms with ambient elements, creating a harmonious and culturally rich musical landscape that reflects his upbringing and experiences.
Inspired by a deep connection to his South African roots and a desire to bridge the gap between continents, Portable coined the term „African Ambient.“ This project serves as a sonic exploration of his diverse cultural journey, bringing together the rhythms and melodies of Africa with the ambient sounds of Europe.
