Landing After Hours: Missouri during the Civil War: A Citizen's Perspective

The Missouri State Museum's "Landing After Hours" program, is held the first Wednesday of each month at the Jefferson Landing State Historic Site,100 Jefferson Street. Join us in-person or via Facebook Live.

Doors open at 6:30 and the program starts at 7 p.m. Convenient parking is available in the lot next to the Lohman Building (100 Jefferson St.).

The Civil War was not a distant battleground for Missourians. Citizens experience martial law, loyalty oaths, military districting, and gorilla warfare firsthand. Joe Amsden, interpretive aide at the Missouri State Museum, takes a look into military operations and civilian tensions throughout Missouri during the war.
