Textured slip slab vessels with Eddie Curtis

We are excited to welcome once again the award winning, talented and inspiring potter Eddie Curtis to host this slab build workshop using his signature slip techniques to mark and form the clay.

Class time is 10am to 4pm with a short tea break and lunch.

A full day dedicated to combining simple hand building techniques with the unique Curtis Texture pastes developed by Eddie Curtis. We will be streching and manipulating soft slabs of clay and creating three dimensional forms with landscape inspired textures. Suitable for all levels - from those who have basic clay skills to the more seasoned creatives wishing to develop new techniques.

He will demonstrate pieces similar to the images shown which will leave you with a series of valuable skill sets to make work that can be self inspired. Using the techniques you will learn, combined together they form a much greater sum of their parts - that is the basis of his teaching, to encourage participants to understand what can be achieved without slavish learning that can so bog down creativity!

Price includes your own tub of slip to use, you can then take away any unused slip to use on your own projects.

during The afternoon you are free to work on your pieces with supervision from Eddie.

We need the studio cleaned and ready to vacate at 4pm

You are welcome to take your pieces home to fire/work on more or we can fire them to stoneware temps in a clear glaze and you can pick up around 4 weeks later.
