The Fenton History Center: Preserving the Past, Inspiring the Future
Since 1963, the Fenton History Center has been Jamestown's premier organization dedicated to preserving and sharing local history. Through inclusive programming that welcomes all ages and abilities, we connect residents and visitors with the stories that shape our community.
This year, for Give Big CHQ 2025, we are focusing on raising funds to hire a part-time Education Coordinator. We have not had a dedicated person in the position for several years, and we will need the funds available to sustain the position for years to come.
This new position will allow us to significantly expand and professionalize our educational programming. The Education Coordinator will be responsible for the following:
Develop and deliver educational programs for students, families, and life-long learners
Oversee and schedule field trips, school outreach, and on-site programming
Work with our team of volunteer museum teachers
Assist in exhibit design and education-based interpretation
Create programs using the rich setting of the 1863 Fenton Mansion and its exhibits
Keep records on attendance, budgeting, materials, and program effectiveness
Hiring an Education Coordinator will allow us to better serve local schools and their educators, homeschoolers and their families, and lifelong learners.
This role is part-time (approximately 21 hours per week) and will require some evening and weekend hours, ensuring we can offer programming when our community needs it most.
By supporting the Fenton History Center during Give Big CHQ 2025, you are investing in education, access, and the continued vitality of local history for generations to come.
Thank you for your support—and for making history come alive!
