Eclipse in the Dunes
This September, come witness a cosmic dance from the golden dunes of Jaisalmer — as Earth briefly casts its shadow on the Moon during a Total lunar eclipse. Set against the endless Thar night, this celestial event will be paired with a guided stargazing experience, storytelling sessions, and moonlit dune walks.
Just for a night — return to the quiet, the sky, and the awe.
🔭 What You’ll Do
🌒 Total Lunar Eclipse Watch
Join our expert StarGuides as they track the eclipse from its penumbral beginning to its maximum phase. Through telescopes, lunar filters, and live commentary, see the moon slowly darken, transforming into a celestial mirror of Earth’s shadow.
🔭 Stargazing in the Thar
With Jaisalmer’s low humidity and open horizon, observe deep sky objects, constellations, and planets through our powerful telescopes. Learn the mythology behind desert skies, trace patterns with laser pointers, and spot seasonal highlights like Saturn, Neptune, and the Milky Way overhead.
🌌 Lunar & Celestial Photography
Capture the Moon in eclipse with guided tips on lunar photography — from tripod settings to framing the event against the golden dunes. Whether with a DSLR or phone, you’ll come away with something timeless.
🏞 Where You’ll Be
The experience unfolds just outside Jaisalmer, away from city lights, where wind-carved dunes stretch into the horizon and silence deepens the sky.
This ancient trade route town, known for its yellow sandstone forts and camels silhouetted against the sun, becomes an open-air observatory at night.
Each activity is hosted in a handpicked dune site, far from light pollution, yet easily accessible from the city.
🛏 Your Stay
• 2 Nights / 3 Days in a boutique resort
• Shared twin-bed rooms with ensuite bathrooms and comfortable bedding
• All meals included – traditional Rajasthani dinner, chai under the stars, and breakfast with sunrise over the dunes
