On Sunday, August 31, communities around the world will gather to honor Overdose Awareness Day - a day of remembrance for lives lost, support for those impacted, and hope for a future free from stigma.
Hosted by The Collective Om, Light Beyond the Tide will take place at the Jacksonville Beach Pier from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. This donation-based, all-are-welcome gathering will weave together art, education, and healing practices in a peaceful oceanside setting.
The evening will include:
-Artistic Expression - seashell painting to honor loved ones and share memories
-Educational Conversation - local PhDs and changemakers sharing personal stories, mental health resources, and community connection
-Narcan Training and Distribution - learn how to administer this life-saving medication and take home free kits
-Breathwork and Meditation - guided practices to help you release tension, restore balance, and connect with inner peace
-Sound Healing - a gentle sound bath to encourage reflection, release, and serenity
This event is hosted in partnership with Hearts 4 Minds and Flirting with Flames.
All donations will go to Hearts 4 Minds, a nonprofit dedicated to breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health by providing education, resources, and support to individuals, families, and communities.
What to bring:
-A towel or blanket to sit or lie on for breathwork and the sound bath
-Comfortable clothing and layers for the evening breeze
-An open heart and willingness to connect
Whether you have personally lost someone, are supporting a loved one, or wish to stand in solidarity, this is a space to connect, reflect, and honor together.
