🍳 Should We Eat Fat? Should We Not Eat Fat? (To Eat or Not To Eat? That is the question?)
We’ve all heard it: “Fat makes you fat!”
Then someone hands you avocado toast and says, “No, fat is essential!”
So what’s the truth?
“Yoga keeps us flexible. Good fats keep our brains flexible. Bad fats… well, they just keep our arteries stiff.”
This workshop will cut through the noise with a fun, practical look at:
• 🥑 Good fats – omega-3s, monounsaturated oils, avocado, nuts, seeds, and olive oil.
• 🍩 Bad fats – trans fats and highly processed oils that can clog more than just your arteries.
• 🧀 Fats that are both good and bad – cheese, butter, and other mixed fats.
• 🧠 The real role of fat in your body: brain health, hormone production, joint mobility, and energy. And what are all those different fats our bodies juggle—HDL the ‘good guy,’ LDL the ‘troublemaker,’ triglycerides that like to party, subcutaneous fat padding the outside, visceral fat hiding around the organs, and even omega-3s keeping our brains nice and fatty in the best way possible. Why do we call them all fat!
• 🧘 Yoga’s role in digestion and fat metabolism: breathwork, twists, and mindful eating.
✨ What You’ll Experience
• A lively lecture + Q&A with Dr. Russell Beis (expect a little humor with your science)
• Gentle yoga with Sharon Lusk to keep digestion flowing and joints happy
• Ayurvedic wisdom on oils and ghee
• Practical kitchen tips on what fats to keep—and which to kick out of your pantry
This is one of those workshops best in person. When we come together in person, learning becomes an experience instead of just information. You get hands-on practice, immediate feedback, and the chance to share ideas with others on the same path.
The energy of a live group setting often sparks new perspectives and motivation you can’t find on your own. It’s training that engages both mind and heart—so what you learn truly stays with you. And everyone that has ever been to an advanced class at YTSE KNOWS that often you get the MOST from others in the class.
