Women’s Self Defense and Awareness Workshop

“Women’s Self Defense and Awareness Workshop” provides practical, hands-on training for women to observe, learn, and then engage in ways needed to defend themselves in real-life situations ranging from domestic violence to a random attack in a parking lot. Your attacker may have a weapon, but that does not mean all is lost if you do not have one. You will learn that self-defense does not always look the same. Sometimes it means defending yourself with your own body, but often it is simply knowing where not to find yourself or when to simply walk or run away. This 2 hour seminar created for women by a female martial artist, is offered to those 12 and up. It is designed to help all women, no matter their body type, age, mobility, or disability. So, please join us, and take it at your own pace in a safe space. The only male present will be the person assisting Sifu Troyce in demonstrations.

Bio:
Sifu Troyce Docherty of “The Mindful Dragon Martial Arts” has been training through a lineage kung fu school in the arts of Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, Ch’ang Style Tai Chi Quan, and other varied internal and external martial arts for over the last 12 years. All her training and certification was given under “The Hall of The Peaceful Dragon” family by her Sifu, Master Eric Sbarge, whose teacher was taught directly by Great-Grand Master Ch’ang Dong Sheng. She has her 10 year Lao Shi certification in both Shaolin Kung Fu and Ch’ang Style Tai Chi Quan. Besides her training, Sifu Troyce has over 9 years experience teaching kung fu and tai chi to children and adults.
