Join the Mississippi Humanities Council for a four-week community reading and discussion series based on The Barn: The Secret History of a M**der in Mississippi by acclaimed writer Wright Thompson.
This groundbreaking book confronts the legacy of racial violence in the Mississippi Delta, most notably the 1955 M**der of Emmett Till, and how decades of silence and systemic injustice have shaped the region’s present. As a native of the Delta, Thompson weaves investigative journalism with personal reflection, offering a deeply human look at our shared past and a compelling call to move forward together.
Come to one, two, or all four, each session stands alone, but together they tell a deeper story. We’d love to have you for the full journey, but you’re welcome anytime!
