An Evening with Lloyd Kaufman and THE TOXIC AVENGER

Join us for a special afternoon and evening with legendary film producer Lloyd Kaufman at the Capri Theatre on Wednesday, May 7, beginning at 4:00 pm. Kaufman, along withth producer Michael Herz, is the co-founder of Troma Entertainment, one of the world's longest running independent production companies. He is the director of The Toxic Avenger, Class of Nuke 'Em High, and Return to Nuke 'Em High Vol 1 and the author of All I Need to Know About Filmmaking I Learned from the Toxic Avenger (with James Gunn).

We will kick off the evening at 4:00 p.m. with one of Lloyd's signature "Make Your Own Damn Movie" workshops, in which he shares insights into every aspect of production from his decades' long career for aspiring independent filmmakers.

At 6:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Capri Theatre, Lloyd Kaufman: Interviews editor Mathew Klickstein will be on hand to autograph copies of his book along with Lloyd. Copies will be available for purchase on site.

At 7:00 p.m. we will screen the cult classic The Toxic Avenger, which will be followed by conversation and Q&A with Lloyd.

The evening is co-sponsored by the Mississippi Film Office, the Mississippi Film Society, and the University Press of Mississippi. These events are free and open to the public, but registration is greatly appreciated.
