Traditiegetrouw kan je op deze zwarte zaterdag genieten van topbands uit het genre, van opkomend talent tot gevestigde waarden, met erna een spetterende afterparty in het Cultuurcafé. Opnieuw niet te missen.

On Saturday 28 June 2025, we will again transform Cultural Centre De Leest in Izegem into a ‘new wave temple’ for the fourth edition of the Pekkersfeesten. Traditionally, on this black Saturday you can enjoy top bands from the genre, from emerging talent to established names, followed by a smashing afterparty in the Cultuurcafé. Once again, not to be missed.

Suicide Commando
Going strong for almost 40 years now, Suicide Commando have not only been pioneers of the harder Electro genre, but still continue being innovators up to this very day. Formed in summer 1986 by Johan van Roy, the band made a name for itself through a series of self-released tapes from the late Eighties to the early Nineties. When the group released its first full-length CD „Critical Stage“ in 1994, it soon would evolve into one of the most popular and important acts of the scene. On this and all of the subsequent releases, Van Roy explores the dark side of humanity with lashing beats, haunting atmospheric electronics and an addictively psychotic and relentlessly aggressive vocal style. With eternal club hits, such as the seminal „See You In Hell“, “B.T.K.” or “Hellraiser” and an impressive roster of successful album releases, from the classics “Mindstrip”, „Axis Of Evil“, „Bind, Torture, K*ll“ or „Implements Of Hell“, up to „When Evil Speaks“ and the 2017-masterpiece “Forest of the impaled” till the brandnew “Goddestruktor” (reaching the N° 9 position in the official German album charts !), Suicide Commando anno 2022 continue to be genre-defining while always evolving their very own trademark sound of synthetically-induced mayhem. We are so happy to have Suicide Commando as the headliner of Pekkersfeesten 2025.
Pink Turns Blue
Pink Turns Blue is an influential post-punk band from Berlin, Germany. Formed in 1985, they quickly put out their first LP, If Two Worlds Kiss expressing a sound reminiscent of New Wave with very dark undertones and use of synthesisers, only to become one of the pioneers of the developing sub-genre of darkwave. Today, Pink Turns Blue is a trio consisting of Mic Jogwer (vocals, guitar), Luca Sammuri (bass) and Paul Richter (drums). In the first generation of gothic rock, Pink Turns Blue formed in 1985, originally as a duo consisting of Jogwer and Thomas Elbern, plus a drum machine. Naming themselves after a Hüsker Dü song, their sound was initially inspired by The Chameleons, Clan of Xymox, and The Cure. Emerging from the fear and uncertainty of a divided Cold War Germany, the band went on to release 11 full-length LPs. After their worldwide success with their album 'Tainted' (2021) and their often-sold-out club concerts in America and Europe, the next studio album of the post-punk legends from Berlin will be released on Feb 28 2025, followed by a club tour through Germany in April and a long-waited stop again in Belgium at Pekkersfeesten in June 2025. The new album and the tour are titled "BLACK SWAN", the term for an unexpected event, which in retrospect is justified as if one could have prepared for it. A gig not to miss at Pekkersfeesten!
Star Industry
Star Industry started their career somewhere in 1996. Peter, Stijn and Xavier, the founding members, were friends for a long time and went to the same school of Arts Academy. That’s where they founded the band. They were all big fans of the early New Wave scene. That dark, mystic music inspired them a lot and they decided to form a band. And with the first demo’s created at a local studio, they had a feeling that there was an excellent cohesion between them as musicians. In 1997, they came out with the first CD “Iron Dust Crush”. Immediately they gained a lot of positive response in the press all over Europe. Since then, they had an amazing track record. Their latest album 'The Renegade' is already from 2015, but new music is coming soon! This Belgian band from Maasmechelen is a must-see for the fans of gothic / dark rock! And with their new album coming up, it will be a gig to remember at Pekkersfeesten!
Dear Deer
This duo from the capital of french Flanders, Lille, forms a couple both on stage and in real life since 2015. Influenced by The Kills, New Order, or even the B-52’s, their sound is at the crossroads of pop-rock, electro and new-wave. Glamorous, their glittery aesthetic sustains a disco and nervous rhythm, coated with fuzzy bass and guitars. Tailor-made for live circuit in a small club or at the borders of Western Europe, they share their furious desire to dance, it smells like holidays in Berlin and the 80s dancefloor! After a self-released demo, quickly appears the first album “Oh my…” in 2016 . “Chew-chew”, their second album released in 2018 appears to be even more dancing. The third album “Collect & reject”, even more influenced by a disco and electro atmosphere, was released on March 25th 2022, after two colourful videos singles “Joan” and “Love like capitalists” (club edit). Later in the year were release the videos of « Plateforme », « Backward Groove » and « Deux ».
Ground Nero
Ground Nero creates 80ies gothic dark wave, making use of modern sound tech, keeping cold wave roots and culture, re-staging it with “wall-of-sound” arrangements, aiming at making people shiver... the band has been able to become one of the best Belgian gothic rock groups in a short time. With two full albums released: 'Divergence' in 2019 and 'Blood Never Sleeps' in 2023, they have built quite the reputation in the gothic rock scene. They cannot wait to give an amazing show at Pekkersfeesten 2025!
KRANK (plays Joy Division)
Mid-80s: a group of friends/musicians with roots in Izegem and Leopoldsburg play together. In high school but mostly during holidays. As ‘NO NAME’ and ‘NOISE DEPARTMENT’, they play new-wave covers but sometimes their own songs. In the early 90s, things fell silent...On the occasion of ‘Ian Curtis 25 years dead’, they play a few Joy Division tribute concerts as ‘KRANK’ in 2005. And in the intervening years a few more, here and there. In June 2025, ‘Unknown Pleasures’ will be 45 years old. Joy Division's debut album is considered a milestone for several reasons. So, reasons enough to let KRANK open our fourth edition of Pekkersfeesten.
