With our Studio 1 Sessions, we offer you a musical respite in the heart of our voice atelier: the stunning Studio 1 at Flagey. This unique workspace and concert venue combines architectural charm, astounding acoustics, and a distinctive intimacy. Up close with the singers, you can see, hear, and feel how the sounds are shaped and brought to life.

“Schubert in three words: fluid, sensitive, profound.” That’s how conductor Johannes Dewilde describes the great master: “Schubert is all about melancholy and depth. The most intimate emotions surface in his beautiful melodies – no detours, straight to the heart."

Franz Schubert’s life was short but intense. Not everyone believed in his talent, and his relationship with his father was strained. This turbulence resonates in his music. “Today, Schubert is best known for his stunning lieder, sensual chamber music, and lyrical symphonies,” Dewilde explains. “But his choral music remains somewhat in the shadow of this more famous repertoire. In these Studio 1 Sessions, I'm excited to bring his choral works into the spotlight."
