Join us on Friday April 25th to explore Brentford Waterside. Picking up where we finished the previous Photowalk, join us for a wander along the canal through Brentford past a working boatyard, Thames Lock, houseboats, and Brentford Lock, before crossing the canal into the relatively recently created wilderness trails through Boston Manor Park.
Bonus points for the Bailey Bridge under the M4 flyover and the soon-to-be-gone-forever iconic GSK building with its wonderful cloud-reflecting surfaces and sleek design. some optional duck and swan action shots are available at the lake, before finishing the walk at the Potting Shed café in the park.
Start 10.30am on the corner of Dock Road and High Street Brentford, next to the multi-storey car park opposite what used to be Morrisons. 9 min walk from Brentford train station. Nearest bus stops 237 or 267 from the east – Bus stop BK Brentford County Court, buses E8, 237, 235, 267 from the west - Bus Stop BN Market Place, and from the north 195, E8, E2 – Bus Stop SE Half Acre. The Piccadilly Line connects with either the E8 and 195 at Boston Manor Tube, or with the E2 at Northfields tube.
Duration: 2 hours, but the park is large, with options to carry on exploring after the walk and a cuppa. Note that there are quite a few steps to negotiate along the route, including bridge crossings and canal access.
