Hike to Tuck Abner Cave and Cottage Furnace

Join us for our two of our most popular hikes, all in one! Tuck Abner Cave and Cottage Furnace are hidden gems in the forest overlooking Irvine. The trailhead to the cave is hard to find if you don’t know what you’re looking for and it’s a short hike on a well traveled trail to the cave from the road. The Cottage Furnace is easy to miss and when the gate is unlocked by our guide it’s a short walk from the parking lot.

Since parking is limited and these hikes often attract a lot of people we will meet in the parking lot behind Estill Springs Elementary and carpool to the cave trailhead. After seeing the cave we will drive down to the Cottage Furnace parking lot.

The carpool will leave promptly at 2pm. Please bring water, snacks, and appropriate hiking gear.
