From Windows to Wildflowers: Making Homes, Yards, and Community Spaces Safer for Birds

Join us for a presentation and discussion on creating bird-friendly spaces at home and in the community. Learn how architecture and landscape choices can support local bird populations, especially now during fall migration - from window design that prevents collisions to native plantings that provide food and shelter.

We will learn from Dr. Richard Fadok, one of the founders of the Smash the Crash ROC, an initiative to end bird-window collisions in Rochester, and June Summers, president of the Genesee Valley Audubon Society. Whether you have a backyard, a balcony, or simply want to advocate for greener urban design in places like homes, schools and businesses, this session will offer practical tips, ideas, and discussion focused on making our built environments safer and more welcoming for birds.
