Join experienced Zine maker, Amy Wragg, for a creative afternoon making your own (fan)zine.
Having fallen head-over-heels in love with zines five years ago, Amy has been making at least one zine a month, ever since. She finds they are both intensely personal works of art, and a tool for supporting personal wellbeing. Spending some dedicated time on one creative activity, using your hands, in a small group of like-minded folks is such a treat.
Limited to 6 spaces, to ensure a valuable session, and space for crafting. The session will take place in the private meeting room at CHIp studio (with air con).
Zines (pronounced zeen) are handmade (folded) pamphlets. Content, styles and topics vary wildly, but each one is always a combination of art, collage, words, stories, and ideas.
All materials are provided, including: posca pens, ink stamps, stickers, colourful paper and card, and a huge selection of printed materials to harvest (newspapers, magazines, etc). Please do bring along additional/niche materials/magazines you may wish to include in your Zine (that you are happy to cutup).
We'll start each session with a potted history of the form, and take a look at some great examples of Zines from a private collection. Then we'll harvest some ideas, and crack on with our creations.
£10 per person. (plus £1 booking fee online). 3 Hour session, to ensure that everyone can complete (at least) one Zine by the end. Tea/coffee included.
Please note, cash/card can be accepted on the day, if you hate booking tickets online. We got ya. Please email Amy to arrange in advance.
