Our monthly Stitch in the ‘swich Comedy Series is back for 2025!
This month features Pete James, Chris Martin, Anisa Nandaula, and Harley Breen!
Pete James
A rising star out of Cairns now based in Brisbane, Peter James is quickly making a name for himself on the Australian comedy circuit. He has performed multiple sell-out solo shows to audiences across Queensland, as well performing interstate at both the Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festivals, where he garnered four and five-star reviews. Peter is also one half of the late-night, cult comedy sensation ‘Shad and Pete Save the World!’, and the founder and organiser of Cairns’ premier comedy venue, Laughing Heart Comedy.
Chris Martin
Chris Martin is an accomplished stand-up comedian and improviser. At the age of 5, he told his family a joke and no one laughed*… well 30 years later he’s MUCH BETTER!
His ability to find himself in an awkward situation is second to none, and has been the basis of his side-splitting storytelling comedy since day one. He’s also quick with a joke and worldly observation.
Chris’ relaxed stage presence and on-point delivery has seen him perform in the best comedy clubs in Australia, all while supporting some of the biggest names in the industry including Damien Power, Luke Heggie and Sam Campbell.
His debut stand-up show Claw Machine (2018) explored all the important relationships from his life and was met with sell-out crowds and rave reviews.
No matter your mood, Chris’ comedy will always leave you smiling and wanting more.
Chris is also a co-founder and director of the Brisbane based and award-winning Big Fork Theatre.
Anisa Nandaula
Ugandan Australian comic and poet Anisa Nandaula’s unique point of view and experiences fuel the fresh new perspective she’s bringing to the local comedy scene and beyond.
Born in Uganda in 2001, Anisa moved to Australia when she was eight and grew up in Rockhampton.
Cutting her teeth through spoken word, Anisa won the 2016 Queensland Poetry Slam and was runner up in the Australia Poetry Slam Championships, then took what she learned to break into comedy in 2020.
Mining everything from racism to relationships, religion to class has seen her amass more than 50 million views of her work across Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube and more than 200,000 social media followers.
Anisa mixes the personal with the political to connect with audiences, veering from relatable dating and finance stories to observations about navigating Australian society while black and back again.
She has performed on Channel Ten, SBS, ABC and at the Sydney Opera House.
Harley Breen
Harley Breen is a popular, award-winning comedian, TV host and radio personality who has won over a legion of fans across the globe with his accessible and relatable stories and style.
Consistently unpredictable, Harley projects the immediately recognisable and relatable image of the unpretentious Aussie bloke. Harley doesn’t just use his instant likeability as a platform to deliver solid, topical material, he also gets beneath the nature of things to create a true bond with all his audience and deliver an experience that will be talked about long after the gig is over. He’s been a fixture on the Aussie comedy festival scene for over 15 years, and is a regular on our TV screens, from appearing on panel shows such as Hughesy, We Have A Problem to performing at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala to hosting the Logie nominated social awareness series, Taboo, and the reality show Making It. He recently recorded his live comedy special, Flat Out for Paramount+. In the corporate sphere, he has been brand ambassador for the Caltex Socceroos, Moto GP and VB’s debut fragrance, Thirst.
