Thursday, August 21st program: Juli Seydell-Johnson, Director and Project Manager of the Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department, runs the Parks & Recreation department that includes 49 full-time staff and its operating budget. Major projects in recent years include renovating the City Park pool and upgrading the Mercer Park athletic fields and pickleball courts. Ms. Seydell-Johnson directs services including facility operations, capital projects management, budgets and financial management, human resources, park and trail development, park maintenance and forestry services, recreation centers, aquatic center operations, and a full complement of recreation and arts programming for all ages. When she is not busy at her job, she runs marathons with over 100 lifetime marathon finishes. Juli is the guest of Dan Schweer.
