Overview:
With tick and mosquito-borne diseases on the rise, it’s important to protect yourself from these outdoor pests and to know when to seek medical help.
Join Erin Splechter, a family nurse practitioner, and Ashley Rockers, a medical laboratory scientist, for an inside look at vector-borne diseases, including prevention, how infections are transmitted through bites, common symptoms, laboratory testing, treatments available, and recovery. The talk will focus on diseases most prevalent in the Midwest and reflect on several first-hand experiences with patients diagnosed right here in Allen and Anderson counties.
Erin Splechter, RN, FNP, sees patients of all ages at the Allen County Regional Hospital–Iola Clinic, located in the Medical Arts Building at 826 E. Madison Ave in Iola. To schedule an appointment, call 620-365-6933.
