Did you know that the Highlands of Scotland is blessed with many local LGBTQ+ authors and poets?
As part of our Pride month programme, celebrating 30 years since the first Pride march in Scotland (17th June 1995, in Edinburgh) we invite you to join us and celebrate, with readings by the authors and Q&A too.
Highland Pride and Eastgate Shopping Centre are hosting
THE VOICE OF PRIDE!
A Literary Exploration: Saturday 28th June at 11am
Voice of Pride, a literary and poetic exploration of what it means to be LGBT+ in the Highlands. Local artists including Kevin Crowe, Jaimie Black, Andy McRae and our very own Roz White will read from their works and then take questions, upstairs (opposite Waterstones) in the Eastgate Centre on Saturday 28th June from 11:00 onwards; come along and get an even greater insight into the remarkable levels of talent in your local LGBT+ Community!
And if you want to join in, do let us know… we’ll fit you in somehow!
The point of this event is to give us *all* our voice, so if you have prose, poetry or that novel that people say is in everyone, please get in touch!
We’d love to reach you all and hear what you have to say!
