Music And Minds
Kehoe Way, Inverness, United States
The United States and the European Union account for 45 percent of the global economy. They share free markets, democratic values, a military alliance, and $1.5 trillion in annual trade. However, the transatlantic partnership is challenged by U.S. threats of economic nationalism (“America First”), lack of commitment to addressing climate change, and the U.S. shift in focus from Europe to Asia. As a result, the first 100 days of the Trump Administration is undoubtedly more consequential for Europe than at any point in the history of the US - EU relations.
About the Speaker

Prior to his career with the EU, he worked for the United Nations and in the New Hebrides in the lead-up to its independence. He obtained his B.A. from Cambridge University and his M.A. in International Affairs from Columbia University. He is now happily retired in Marin County.
