Dinosaur Discovery at The Caves

About this eventThis session is presented by an Education Officer and palaeontologist from Bunurong Coast Education who has been involved in the Dinosaur Dreaming dig. You will see fault lines from ancient earthquakes and petrified trees from the age of the dinosaurs, followed by rock breaking to possibly find a fossil yourself.Meet at the Bunurong Environment Centre at the corner of Ramsey Blvd and The Esplanade in Inverloch. Following an introduction to the activity and a safety briefing the group will go to The Caves on the Cape Paterson-Inverloch Rd about six kilometres away. Participants will need their own transport. Warm clothing will be needed in cooler weather and sun protection should be worn.After visiting the dig site, rock breaking is conducted at the Wallace Avenue Community Park at the east end of Wallace Avenue, Inverloch (-38.62872 S, 145.73261 E). Rock breaking hammers supplied or BYO.Please Note:Please Note:All attendees must possess a ticket including adults accompanying children, and children and infants under 5yrs old).Tickets for children and infants under 5 yrs old are free.Groups may be up to 25 people.FAQsIs there a minimum age requirement?This activity is suitable for school aged children, teenagers and adults. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a supervising adult who has a ticket. (Please note age requirements are a guide only). However, if the weather conditions pose a threat to the safety of participants we will cancel and refund your ticket fee. In this event, we will email you so please monitor your email if the weather is bad.When do bookings close?Bookings close an hour before the event. However, if there are insufficient bookings, the session may be cancelled several days beforehand. So best to book early to make sure it happens.What is the refund policy?If we haven't sold enough tickets to cover our costs 24 hours prior to the event we will cancel the activity, email you and refund your money. We may also need to cancel this event if unforeseen circumstances mean our presenter is unable to come or the weather turns nasty. If we cancel the event, we provide a full refund. If you cancel your ticket, you will be entitled to a full refund provided you cancel at least 7 days before the event.
